A fourth generation family firm, PTL was established in Glasgow in 1905 as a timber importer and merchant, trading in hardwoods and softwoods. In 1994 PTL moved to larger, purpose built premises in Elliot Street, Glasgow, where they are today. The premises comprise modern offices and a 1700 sq m warehouse, where PTL holds extensive stocks for immediate delivery to customers throughout the country.
 The current team is headed up by accountant Russell Paterson, who took over as managing director in 1992 when his father Tommy retired. Stuart Hyslop, Production Manager and Chris Mennie, Sales Manager, form the management team. In all, PTL currently employs ten people.
